1300 919 999 Step 1: Choose Installation Type
Face Fit (External Mount)
Installed on the outer wall surface to cover the entire window and frame. Offers maximum coverage, insulation, and protection.
Reveal Fit (Inside Mount)
Mounted inside the window opening for a clean, flush appearance—ideal where frame depth allows.
Face Fit is ideal for most Australian homes and allows greater flexibility during installation.
Step 2: Measure the Width
For Face Fit:
- Measure the width of your window from one side of the frame to the other.
- Add track allowance based on your window configuration:
Track Type
- Standard Allowance
- Small Track
- 53mm
- Medium Track
- 63mm
- Large Track
- 73mm
Important Note:
In most cases, track allowance is added to both sides of the window. However, in some installations (e.g., if a wall or pipe is tight on one side), you may only be able to add it on one side.
If space is limited, send us a photo, and our team will help you measure accordingly.
Example: Window width = 1000mm + Medium Track (63mm one side or both sides) = 1063mm or 1130mm depending on the situation.
Step 3: Measure the Height
For Face Fit
- Measure from the top of the window frame to the desired bottom point.
- Add extra clearance at the top for the shutter box (see next step).
For Reveal Fit
- Measure the inside height at the left, middle, and right.
- Use the smallest height for an accurate fit.
Step 4: Select the Correct Shutter Box Size

- Up to 1300mm: 165mm
- Up to 2000mm: 180mm
- Up to 2800mm: 205mm
- Up to 3500mm: 230mm
Make sure there is enough clearance above the window for the shutter box installation.
Step 5: Check for Obstacles
Inspect around the window area for:
- Pipes, taps, or gas meters
- Air conditioning units or wall lights
- Window handles or flyscreens

- Always measure in millimetres (mm)
- Double-check both width and height
- Confirm track type, box size, and fitting method (face or reveal)
