Whether we’re installing new shutters or performing repairs, all our work is carried out by trained professionals using genuine components. Below is a full overview of our warranty terms, responsibilities, and important customer notes—clearly listed for your peace of mind.

01Warranty Coverage

We provide the following standard warranty terms:

  • Motors – 5-Year Manufacturer Warranty (parts only)
  • Remote Controls & Wall Switches – 12-Month Manufacturer Warranty
  • Manual Parts – 12-Month Warranty on items such as straps, pulleys, slats, spring fasteners, winches, and axles
  • Labour & Installation – 12-Month Warranty on workmanship for all installation and repair jobs
  • Security Doors, Grilles, and Tracks – Up to 5-Year Product Warranty (depending on manufacturer)

All warranties cover manufacturing faults and defects under normal residential use and proper operation.

02What Is Not Covered (Exclusions & Causes)?

The following issues are not covered under any warranty, as they fall outside of expected product use or result from external damage:

  • Accidental Damage – Dropping remotes, water damage, impact damage to shutters or motors
  • Forceful Use – Overpulling manual shutters or forcing them up/down abruptly
  • Operating with Obstructions – Running shutters while windows or items are in the way
  • Customer Modifications – Altering or tampering with wiring, motors, straps, or controller systems
  • Age-Related Deterioration – Corrosion, fading, or brittle components in older systems
  • Natural Disasters – Damage from storms, heavy winds, falling branches, or other environmental factors
  • Neglect of Care Instructions – Failure to follow operational guidelines provided at handover

03 Post-Service or Installation Procedure

After every job—whether installation or repair—our technician will:

  • Fully test the system (motor/manual/smart) before completion
  • Demonstrate the functionality to the customer
  • Advise of any pre-existing or potential future issues (especially with older shutters)
  • Require customer confirmation that everything is operating correctly before leaving

This ensures that you are fully informed and satisfied at the time of service.

04 Warranty Transfer Policy

  • All warranties are non-transferable unless reviewed by Elite Roller Shutters
  • New owners must contact us within 30 days of purchasing the property
  • A warranty inspection may be required to confirm condition and eligibility
  • Warranty transfer is only valid once approved in writing by our team

05Clear View Shutters Advisory

Clear View shutters are constructed using polycarbonate profiles and aluminium alloy guides for visibility and durability. However, due to the materials used:

  • Light surface scratches or marks may appear naturally over time through regular use
  • In some cases, minor cosmetic marks may also occur during testing and final adjustment at the time of installation

These marks are not considered a fault or defect, but a natural characteristic of polycarbonate and aluminium contact.

Proper care includes:

  • Using a soft cloth with mild detergent for cleaning
  • Avoiding abrasive materials and strong chemicals
  • Following instructions provided during handover

06 Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), you are entitled to:

  • A replacement or refund for major product failures
  • Compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage
  • Repairs or replacement if a product fails to be of acceptable quality and the fault is not major

These guarantees apply in addition to the warranties provided by Elite Roller Shutters.
