1300 919 999 Step 1: Check Your Delivery & Measurements
- Ensure you’ve received all components: shutter, side tracks, shutter box, control system (manual or motor), fixings, and instructions.
- Reconfirm that measurements match your window or door opening.
Tip: Always measure in millimetres before starting installation.
Step 2: Mark Out the Area
- Choose installation type: Face Fit (outside wall) or Reveal Fit (inside opening).
- Hold the shutter box above the opening and mark the position of the side tracks.
- Check for level using a spirit level to ensure straight alignment.
Step 3: Fit the Side Tracks
- Drill and fix the side guides vertically on both sides of the opening.
- Use wall plugs and screws suited to brick, concrete, or timber.
- Ensure tracks are perfectly parallel — this is critical for smooth operation.
Step 4: Install the Shutter Box
- Lift the roller shutter box into position above the tracks.
- Insert the slats into the side guides.
- Fix the box securely into the wall or opening using appropriate fixings.
Shutter box must be level and square to avoid jamming.
Step 5: Connect the Control System
For Manual (Strap or Winch):
- Feed the strap or winch cord through the wall into the interior.
- Connect to the control unit inside the room.
- Wind and test the up/down operation.
For Electric (240V):
- Electrical connection should be done by a licensed electrician.
- Connect the motor to the wall switch or remote receiver.
- Test the limits (up and down stop positions).
For 12V Battery/Mobile Operated:
- Plug in the battery or solar unit as per instructions.
- Connect motor terminals to the control receiver.
- Program the remote and test shutter operation.
Step 6: Test Operation
- Open and close the shutter several times to ensure smooth movement.
- Make sure there are no rubbing or sticking points.
- Listen for cranking or motor noise — adjust if needed.
Step 7: Finishing & Clean-Up
- Seal around the tracks and box if needed for waterproofing.
- Remove protective film from the shutter.
- Clean the work area and hand over to the customer.
