Step 1: Close the Shutter
Fully close the shutter to access the external surface for cleaning.
Step 2: Dust Off Loose Dirt
Use a soft broom or dry microfiber cloth to gently remove dust, leaves, and cobwebs from the shutter.
Step 3: Wash with Mild Soapy Water
Mix warm water with a mild detergent. Clean the slats using a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid strong chemicals or abrasive materials.
Step 4: Rinse Thoroughly
Rinse with a low-pressure hose or clean water bucket. Never use high-pressure water, as it can damage the shutter system.
Step 5: Dry with a Soft Cloth
Wipe the shutters with a soft towel or allow them to air dry to prevent rust and water spots.
Step 6: Clean Inside When Fully Open
Raise the shutter fully and gently clean inside the guide rails and back slats.
Electric shutters:
- Avoid spraying near the motor or switch.
- Do not operate while wet.
Step 7: Regular Maintenance
- Clean every 3–6 months.
- Schedule a professional service yearly to ensure smooth operation and motor safety.
